From a random episode of G.I. Joe:

GI Joe double agent infiltrating Cobra: What frequency are you using to transmit [this week's weapon]?
Cobra guy: There, that's it, but what's it to you?
GI Joe: No reason. I just love to see the flashing numbers on the screen.
Cobra guy: *is not even a little suspicious*
Me: ...you know, I think I can see why Cobra never got to rule the world.

Bwa! Yeah, when your eight-year-old self can see the holes in Cobra's strategy... it's really bad?

They are a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world! Fortunately for us all, they are also really dumb. *g*

Heh, the 80's cartoon was fairly awful, but usually in a fun way. :) Which is actually almost funnier if you've ever read Larry Hama's run on the G.I. Joe comics, since those were actually pretty spectacular.

I have heard plenty of good things about Hama's G.I. Joe; I've just never been interested enough in the franchise to actually seek it out. They'll get me eventually, I'm sure, by way of Transformers if nothing else.

I've only got a few digital issues of Hama's run that I torrented, but what I've got is very good - if obviously from the 70's era.

Transformers are notoriously addictive. :)

*eyes action-figure-strewn shelves ruefully* Oh, now you tell me...

Wasn't there a warning on the first box? *look innocent* I'm sure there was SUPPOSED to be a warning...

What always got me was that every episode of Scooby Doo ended with the unmasking of a fake ghost, yet the whole team were always back to assuming that they were investigating a REAL ghost by the beginning of the next episode.

You would think eventually, they would get it, wouldn't you? Maybe somebody was knocking them over the head with a brick after the conclusion of each case?
