I love this cartoon so much, especially when it's been such a long wait since the last episode.

Brande! Origin! Founders! Yay! Okay, so Brande's accent kind of bugs me, but it's just a different expression of his funny-old-man persona, and it's not like they were going to get away with letting him say "By damn!" all the time. And he's Cham's dad! Please tell me we're going to get more on that. Please. (If only to clear things up for the non-long-time fans, who may perhaps be wondering how this works...)

And Imra! I have missed Imra, and she is in top form in this episode. "Here's my doctor's note." "Also, I can read minds." (Which is even better as coming as a tag to her Sherlock Holmes performance.) And mindblasts, which I think is unique to this version of the origin. (Also, the Scooby Doo reference made me giggle no end.)

Cosmic Boy has not been coming off as the most sympathetic character in this series, and to be honest he has his problems in this episode too--accepting an award is not more important than visiting your injured teammates--but his younger version is adorable, all idealistic and eager to prove himself; he makes a good foil for young Garth. (He is clearly not allowed to ever name anything, though. *g*)

And I really love Lightning Lad. He's cocky without being obnoxious (well, okay, sometimes that too--"wet blanket powers," heh), is clearly concerned for and protective of his hospitalized teammates (Matter Eater Lad and the spoon, so cute!), is not at all dismayed to find out Imra's a telepath, and his apology at the end was great. The whole "they scream at each other and then they're best friends again, until they aren't" dynamic was a lot of fun, actually, although if you were the other Legionnaires I imagine it might get a bit wearing. Maybe that's why Cos is away so much.

That's, er, a very big Superman statue. I bet Clark was mortally embarrassed the first time he saw it.

And hey, look, it's Grimbor the Chainsman! Let's hear it for B&D themed villains on kids' shows!

The ending makes me mist up. LLL!

Next week: Mordru!

YES. Awesome episode.

I, um, don't really have anything to add, though. SO happy to see Imra again! And TEENY LEGIONNAIRES. :D

Teeny Legionnaires were adorable. I'm always fond of stories about the very early days of the Legion, when they're still trying to find their feet and figure out how, exactly, this whole hero thing works. (Maybe if I'm very, very good they will do another flashback episode eventually. And I don't say this just in the hopes of getting to see Brainy's arrival. ;)

Me neither! TYROC! I would just about *die* if they gave us a cartoon version of him. :D

That is to say, more than in the backgrounds.

A small, evil part of me wants them to do his origin story.

*cracks up* Hey, DC, can we have ''that'' book?

Other than that, what Caia said. :)

Oh, Brainy. If you were not so completely obsessive about everything, you would not have these problems!
