Okay, this is what happens when I get to this twelve-characters meme after one of my periodic attempts to catalog all my old tapes full of random TV shows. Although I did manage to keep the sitcoms out of it.

1. Connor Hawke (DC comics)
2. Kyle Rayner (DC comics)
3. Querl Dox (DC comics)
4. Scott Summers (Marvel comics)
5. Catherine Chandler (Beauty and the Beast)
6. Rupert Giles (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
7. Joe Dawson (Highlander)
8. Kira Nerys (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine)
9. Michael Garibaldi (Babylon 5)
10. Darien Fawkes (The Invisible Man)
11. Ezra Standish (The Magnificent Seven)
12. Rodney McKay (Stargate: Atlantis)

Have you ever read a Rupert Giles/Ezra Standish (6/11) fic? Do you want to?

Despite the number of AUs and crossovers the Mag 7 guys turn up in, I'm pretty sure I've never seen that particular pairing. I can't imagine how you get those two people into bed together--although the old standard of random encounters in a bar might serve--but on the off chance somebody were to try, I'd certainly read it.

Do you think Scott Summers (4) is hot? How hot?

Oh, hell, yes. I'm pretty sure Cyclops was my first Marvel crush, and that love has remained true for years, for many reasons, but one of them is that he's Really Just That Hot.

What would happen if Rodney McKay (12) got Kira Nerys (8) pregnant?

*dies repeatedly* Rodney would have a fit. Just the biggest panic attack you could imagine. Any support Kira needs about how to balance her job with raising a child (the pregnancy, at least, she's had practice with) is going to have to be coming from her friends, because Rodney will be no help at all--he'd just toss the whole thing over to her, and she'd take it, as she does. His friends would be glaring at him (for some reason Teyla seems particularly disapproving, in my head) and suggesting that even if he wasn't going to help Kira raise the kid he could at least be there for them a little. Rodney would demand to know if they'd ever seen him with kids and doesn't it seem like the best thing for all concerned is that he just stay the hell away from the situation? (I'm not convinced he's not right, either.)

Can you rec any fic(s) about Michael Garibaldi (9)?

Hell, I want people to rec me fics about him. I've gone half-heartedly looking a few times, and don't remember finding much of anything. There are people on my flist who write B5 fic, but they're mostly into Narns and Centauri (which is great, but if we're talking about Michael).

Would Kyle Rayner (2) and Rupert Giles (6) make a good couple?

...um, no. A good mentor/student relationship, maybe, a good couple, no.

Catherine Chandler/Michael Garibaldi (5/9) or Catherine Chandler/Darien Fawkes (5/10)? Why?

Bizarrely, I'm leaning a little towards the latter. She has a lot more in common with Michael, and I think they'd get along really well professionally. But that's kind of the problem--they've both got difficult, demanding jobs, and Michael in particular is obsessed with his; I really don't know that he'd be able to be there for her. And Cathy wouldn't complain about that as such, but I think she really does need a support system of her own, and I'm not sure she'd make it long-term with a guy who couldn't do that for her. I think they might do better as friends and colleagues, although it's always possible that I'm underrating them. Meanwhile she'd certainly understand Darien's situation, and she'd be enormously sympathetic to him--and she'd be unfazed by the quicksilver madness; she's dealt with worse--but they're awfully different people. On the other hand, apparently they could discuss literature (even if Darien's actually only ever read Bartlett's, his frequency of use suggests he'd be open to other possibilities), which is a big way to Cathy's heart. And Darien's really a much better person than he gives himself credit for, these days, and Cathy's both smart enough to see that and flexible enough to deal with his shades of grey. They're still coming from different ends of the spectrum, but I could see them falling for each other to their own total bewilderment.

What would happen if Joe Dawson (7) walked in on Kyle Rayner (2) and Rodney McKay (12) having sex?

Kyle would blush, yelp, and use the ring to make some sort of cover. McKay would say something sharp to the effect of "Do you mind? I'm trying to have sex here!" Joe would apologize and shut the door, unruffled; he spies on people for a living. They should just be grateful there isn't a Chronicle to put it in. *pauses* Well--I suppose it's possible. But they'd have to be pre-Immortal, and I don't think the Watchers have any way of spotting those unless an Immortal tells them. So probably not.

Make up a summary for a Querl Dox/Darien Fawkes (3/10) fic.

"Brainy makes Darien a cure for quicksilver madness. Darien decides to show Brainy just how grateful he is." Gee, that was easy (or is it Darien who's easy? Hmmm... *g*) Okay, so you have to get the two of them into the same time-frame first, but it's not like that's hard.

Is there any such thing as Connor Hawke/Kira Nerys (1/8) fluff?

...I somehow doubt it. Although, you know, Connor would make a great Starfleet officer--in Security, I would assume--and I could certainly envision him showing up on DS9 and Kira being amused by his wide-eyed enthusiasm, and then she sees him in action and is impressed--and oh, I bet Connor would want to know more about the Bajoran faith, that would be an easy hook... Okay, it doesn't exist, but it should.

Suggest a title for a Joe Dawson/Rodney McKay (7/12) hurt/comfort fic.

"The Secrets We Keep," maybe.

What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted Scott Summers (4) to deflower Connor Hawke(1)?

I keep thinking this would be easier if I made Connor a mutant, except then he's presumably one of Scott's students and I think Scott would have reservations about deflowering him. Anyway, I'm pretty sure the easiest course here would just be to have Connor stressing, in his quiet Connor-way, about how all these people want him and he just doesn't know anything about the subject. Scott can sympathize with that, lord knows (well, more the second half ), and I think he could be convinced to do a little...educating.

Does anyone on your friends list read Joe Dawson (7) slash?

I've no idea. I don't even know if anyone on my friends-list is much into Highlander.

Does anyone on your friends list read Querl Dox (3) het?

Somebody probably would--Brainy is pretty popular on my friendslist--except I don't think there's any presently being written. Correct me if I'm wrong, certainly. *g*

Does anyone on your friends list write or draw Ezra Standish (11)?

One or two, yes.

Would anyone on your friends list write Kyle Rayner/Scott Summers/Catherine Chandler (2/4/5)?

...I think that's an unqualified "no." *g* It's hard enough to separate Cathy from her One True without bringing her into crossover threesomes (and Kyle and Scott aren't really each other's type, either).

What might Darien Fawkes (10) scream at a moment of great passion?

"Oh god, Hobbes, yes!"

If you wrote a song-fic about Kira Nerys (8), which song would you choose?

Um. No idea, although I'm sure if I thought about it for a while I could come up with something, she's the kind of character that lends herself well to songs.

If you wrote a Connor Hawke/Rupert Giles/Rodney McKay (1/6/12) fic, what would the warnings be?

...er, "this fic was written under the influence of heavy drugs"?

What might be a good pick-up line for Kyle Rayner (1) to use on Darien Fawkes (10)?

"Wanna really tick off your boss?" (Okay, probably not. But while I can actually see this one, I'm a little lost for pick-up lines.)

When was the last time you read a fic about Cathy Chandler (5)?

Oh, god, years ago. I've no idea if there's any active fandom for that show anymore; maybe I should look and see if the archive's still there.

What is Rupert Giles' (6) super-sekrit kink?

Ethan Rayne. Oh, wait, you said secret?

If Querl Dox (3) and Joe Dawson (7) get together, who tops?

Depends on what you mean. I think it would be easier for Joe to be physically on the bottom, but he's likely to be in charge of the encounter; preboot Brainy doesn't care, and postboot is completely lacking in experience. Newboot I don't have enough data on.

Would Ezra Standish (11) shag Michael Garibaldi (9)? Drunk or sober?

Heh. Oh, I think he would, I'm just not sure he'd get anywhere, what with Ezra being a conman/gambler and Michael being a professional paranoid. If Ezra could convince Michael that relaxing for one evening would not kill him and that Ezra had no designs on him besides the obvious, I think they'd have a fine time together, although we're definitely talking one-night-stand here. As for sobriety, he'd be more likely to make the overture if he were drunk, but it would probably go over better if he were sober; Ezra's a sarcastic drunk, if not quite a mean one. It would be several degrees of magnitude easier if Michael were drunk, of course--but that way lies a sharp right turn into angst, and Michael's not a particularly attractive drunk either.

"Connor Hawke (1) and Michael Garibaldi (9) are in a happy relationship until Michael suddenly runs off with Scott Summers (4). Connor, broken-hearted, has a hot one-night stand with Ezra Standish (11) and a brief unhappy affair with Rodney McKay (12), then follows the wise advice of Catherine Chandler (5) and finds true love with Querl Dox (3)." What title would you give this fic? Name three people on your friends list who might read it. Name one person who should write it.

...the worrying bit is how much of this actually makes sense. I mean, for crazed crossover crackfic. Nonetheless, I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who would either write or read this. And I'm not gonna, so there. *g*

How would you feel if Joe Dawson/Kira Nerys (7/8) was canon?

...terribly bewildered, what with that owned-by-different-people problem, not to mention the several centuries' time difference. But if it did somehow happen I think I'd be enchanted; they'd be great together, and Joe would fit right in on DS9.

A Quilt for Kielle

A Quilt for Kielle

You may not know me, but you know Kielle. If not, please forgive me, as I found you listed in her "friends" file.

I am making a quilt for Kielle. Why? Because she is ill. To put it bluntly, she has cancer. If you are not aware, or have not heard, please refer to her LJ. Chris has been keeping her journal updated for the interim.

So what am I asking for, and how much will it cost? It will cost you the time it takes to email a picture of yourself (or representing yourself) and words of encouragement to me to be added into her quilt.

You see, I have the blocks nearly done, and they still look… well, "bare" is the best thing I can think of. Then I had the idea of dozens of her internet friends sending her well-wishes into the blank spots of the quilt and the idea has been chewing away at me.

So I am asking everyone on her Friends list (and elsewhere) to pitch in and add their smiling mugs to the quilt. You don't even have to use your real name, you can give me the name she knows you by. Just make sure there's a name attached to it can go onto the block with the right face.

Please send it all to me sometime before October 25. Anytime after that, and I will have already sent it off. I would like Kielle to receive the quilt by October 31, as that is a special day for her and Chris.

So, you don't know me at all, but I was looking for Michael Garibaldi fics and this blog entry popped up on the yahoo search. Have you found any in the months that have passed or are there virtually no decent, Garibaldi-centered fics out there?

Oh, man...not much. Allaire Mikhail (http://www.skeeter63.org/~allaire/AllaireFanfic.htm) and Emily Brunson (http://www.ebrunson.com/janissa/) have written some stories, mostly slash; and Jennifer Lyons wrote two pieces, "Requests" (http://members.aol.com/JALyon/request.htm) and "Remember" (http://members.aol.com/JALyon/remembr.htm) dealing with the events of "War Without End." And there's a permanently unfinished story by Perri Smith called "Scenes From a Spaceside Bar" (http://perriverse.dreamhost.com/babylon5/scenes/index.html) that's a mildly AU look at season two, featuring among others Garibaldi and an OFC (it's good, I *swear*, even if it is unfinished). And, uh, I think that's everything *I've* ever run into.

Yay! Fics! I'm to the point where I'm playing with the idea of writing a fic myself even though my fic-writing plate is full already.
