I really need to be kept away from the action figures. I didn't even realize this was coming out (although had I thought it through I probably would have realized), until I saw it in the store. Whereupon I immediately had to possess it. I mean, Alan Scott! With removable cloth cape! Mmm, yummy. Besides, my Jay was lonely. (He'd probably still rather have a Joan, but, well, good luck on that count. :) So now I have Wally and Kyle on top of my monitor and Jay and Alan at the bottom. This amuses me. (I do have a Hal, but he's over on a shelf glaring at the world and trying to ignore Ollie.)

It's actually interesting, looking at the two of them side-by-side, because there really was effort put out to make them in keeping with the original appearance, so Jay is all streamlined, with this slim runner's build and a completely skin-tight costume, and Alan is more solidly built and has much baggier clothes, particularly the sleeves. (And less fashion sense, but this goes without saying. *g*) I like this.

Also, when I take off Alan's cape, the description that comes into my mind is "multi-colored Zorro." I'm not quite sure why, since Zorro has a cape, but the impression will not be denied.

I'm just happy they gave Alan a neck -- his early appearances were all scary with the cape and the shoulders hiding his ears. The First Appearance Robin has no neck, so they could have gone that way with Alan. So glad they didn't....

eee! Alan Scott! and he has a little lantern and everything... *fangirl glee* (See, when I tell people who my favourite GL is, they look at me funny. But now I feel vindicated, 'cause that is a damn cool action figure.)

And, you know who his costume reminds me of, a little? Just a colours, mostly, but Robin(s). It was a random thought that got caught in my head a couple days ago when I reread the 'tec "Made of Wood" storyline so I could make my icon, but it made me laugh like a mad laughing thing. Not that there's any shortage of those around the Batman books, but.

Oh, it's a great figure. And the cape! *loves her Alan*

And that's two comments in a row that have compared him to Robin. Clearly he needs to turn the coloring down. *g* (I still miss the sexy Sentinel costume...)
