On the one hand, I really should be working, and I'm not.

On the other hand, I'm writing Blue'n'Gold slash. So it's a good news/bad news thing.

(I'd forgotten how much I liked dialogue-only snark...)

... you could be writing Jack and Kyle and you're writing Booster and Beetle?

My Kyle figure arrives today. He will be seated next to Jack on my monitor. I request -- nay, I demand -- progress on the Jack and Kyle story. You took an oath at DexCon.

...may I suggest that the best response to "I'm writing something! Neat!" is not "I don't like that. Write something else"?

Jack/Kyle is very high on the list, it just isn't happening this minute. The Booster/Beetle is relatively easy and will hopefully be finished quickly, and frankly I need the practice.

... You can suggest.

I never said "I don't like that." Although, truth be told, I may be squicked by Booster/Beetle slash(yet I will not know until I read what you have produced, so it's neither here nor there). I said "there's something else you could be writing, nay that you have started already", which is perhaps not the most supportive of replies.

So... "Yay!, you are writing something!" Which is a genuine reaction. And hopefully to be followed by "Yay! FINISHED and POSTED something!", also a genuine reaction, if all too rare in your fic-hording case. And after that's all done, I will reiterate my initial plaint.

Thank you, yes, that's better.

I don't mean that you have an obligation to be enthusiastic about everything I write, or to like it when it's produced. But when I'm actually trying to WRITE something, and I'm enjoying it, and the first response I get is "why are you writing that?"--well, it doesn't make me feel very good.

... so do you love me FOR my ability to stick my foot in my mouth, or DESPITE it?

*thinks about this* How 'bout if I just say I love you unconditionally? :)

I loooove dialogue-only snark. That it's Blue Beetle and Booster Gold is a bonus :)

They're certainly ideal candidates for the style. :)

Work = boring. Writing = good. I see no difficulty with this equation. ;)

In theory I agree with this, but I also have a project with a deadline. You understand how that goes....
