Excuse me while I gloat over being a Maryland resident.
Okay, seriously, I'm really hoping that the results of this travesty of a law aren't as serious as they appear. Because some of the aspects just seem like they're so blatantly unconstitutional that they couldn't ever make it past the first challenge.
I'm constantly astounded by the arguments against gay marriage. I mean, people, this is the most obvious civil rights violation since there were "colored" water fountains. How could it *be* more obvious?
I actually live in Northern Virginia, which is the most liberal part of the state (and close enough to DC that I can find that apartment I'm looking for there, if necessary). But at a moment like this, that's very cold comfort.
Outrageous is the word, although I bet I could think of some others if I tried. This doesn't affect me personally as far as I can tell, but just the idea that anyone could do this, and all the appalling implications of how it could be used... *shivers*
