Two random GL quotes:

"Persistent, tenacious, stubborn, bull-headed. Yeah. And those are my good points!"
--Hal, #151

And for [livejournal.com profile] caia_comica:

"Green Arrow says I over-analyze, overlook the obvious...and just this once, I'm inclined to agree with him!"
--Hal, #157

Groovy quotes!

Yeah, Hal is turning out to be more interesting--or at least possessed of more of a sense of humor--than I'd thought...

*snicker* (1st quote) The Guardians should *really* have thought harder about their qualifications for GLs.

(2nd) Just this *once*, Hal?

Thanks for the quote(s). Are you enjoying the issues? (Have insane amounts of GL--including these two issues--on my hard drive that I haven't had enough time to read.)

Well, in fairness to Hal I should add that the context is him telling a bad guy that he won't give up. That's a quality the Guardians are looking for, definitely.

Just this *once*, Hal?

Hey, if Hal agreed with Ollie regularly there would be rains of blood and cats and dogs living together, or something! ;)

Are you enjoying the issues?

Yeah, I am. The issues prior to #170 were of mixed quality, but after that it all started to come together.

Bit you might be interested in: Hal, having given up being Green Lantern to be with Carol Ferris, makes a not entirely convincing statement to Ollie that he's happy now. Ollie finishes the conversation, hangs up the phone, and promptly turns to Dinah and says "I knew it! He's never happy unless he thinks he's screwed up! And it's that Carol Ferris who did it to him!" While that's an interesting take on Hal, I find this really amusing because Ollie advised him to quit. I can hear them now: "No, I don't think it was a good idea!" "You told me to!" "Well, yeah, but I didn't think you'd actually listen to me!"

Ollie is funny because he can find a way to bitch about ANYTHING. ANY FRICKING THING. He should change his codename from Green Arrow to Bitchmaster!

I think--in fact, I can guarantee--that that would be...misinterpreted. ;->

Dinah? I was talking about Mia. ;)

Well, you did say you wanted it misinterpreted ;-).

Though even with Mia, I admire your courage.

Ah, I see. They just need a Hal with an "off" switch :-).

It's not so much them *agreeing* that has me worried. It's when they start *admitting* it...

Yeah, I am. The issues prior to #170 were of mixed quality, but after that it all started to come together.

Will keep this in mind (for when I have *actual free time*, rather than whetever it is that I'm taking at the moment...) and look forward to your further ocmments.

Interesting indeed. No clue at the moment what I *make* of it, but interesting indeed.

I find this really amusing because Ollie advised him to quit. I can hear them now: "No, I don't think it was a good idea!" "You told me to!" "Well, yeah, but I didn't think you'd actually listen to me!"

*g* You see, *counting* on Hal to disagree with Ollie can be dangerous... When was this?

This conjures up the funniest image... "Back in the closet with you, Green Lantern! We'll reactivate you if Sinestro comes back."

It's not so much them *agreeing* that has me worried. It's when they start *admitting* it...

"Ollie, even you don't actually believe that." "...maybe." "In other words, yes. Would it kill you to just once admit I was right?" "Yes." "Look, I've admitted you were right about things." "Name one." "I've made entire passionate speeches, Ollie!" "But did you actually say I was right?" "You're just doing this to be difficult, aren't you?"

When was this?

#188. He's also in #190, where he protests Hal going to face the Predator alone because he's lost his powers, and Hal angrily retorts "I have precisely my power! Hal Jordan's power! My brain, my will and my good left hook! I still count, dammit! Hal Jordan still counts!"

::snicker:::

You know, a quick shallow reading of this got me "I have precisely my power! Hal Jordan's power! My brain, my will and my good looks!"

There totally, totally, is.

I'm increasingly convinced the man's the Nightwing of his generation, and there is a great need for everyone-loves-Hal fic...

ROTFL. Those two...

Y'know, I suddenly have a theory on why Hal doesn't just *tell* Ollie he loves him:

Hal: "I love you."
Ollie: "Do NOT."
Hal: "Do TOO."
Ollie: "Prove it."
Hal: "Okay." *kisses him*
Ollie: *jumps Hal*
Hal: *allows himself to be jumped*
......
Ollie: "I'm still not convinced. You'll have to do that again..."

Or now that I think of it...

"I have precisely my power! Hal Jordan's power! My brain, my will and my good left hook! I still count, dammit! Hal Jordan still counts!"

LOL. I *love* this aspect of Hal.
