overall, i think there was much more depth to shigure. hints of more going on inside of him. and the art, while mostly the same as the anime, veered more to the end of sexy, rather than cute.

i'm such a happy fangirl. ^_______^

Yeah, little bits and pieces. Particularly noticed the bit where he says he feels jealousy, which is rather an interesting thing to hear from the guy who's sleeping with Ayame. ;)

Also, while it's not particularly depth-showing, I loved the line about kidnapping the princess. Me, I always thought of that as retrieving lost property--"excuse me, I think you have something of ours. We'll just be collecting it now..."

Okay, remind me. Is Hatori's inclusion in this canon? (I've got to sit down with my DVDs instead of just reading your fic... :) Also, well, we all know where Hatori's first loyalty is... (Or maybe we don't, but I'm pretty sure that's what Shigure thinks, especially at this point in the story.)

Actually Yuki and Kyo are the ones who give me the image. I mean, yes, the subtext is "we love you and need you" (although I don't think Kyo's consciously worked that out yet; not sure about Yuki), but the actual text is a lot closer to "Let's go. Now. We'll get your things." :) (Of course, they did arrive in time to hear Tohru give a heartbroken speech about how she'd wanted to stay, but honestly I don't think the results would have been much different if they'd got there half an hour earlier; those boys were not taking no for an answer...)

he's as much a part of the canon of it as shigure and ayame. which means that if you turn your head to the left and squint...

of course, hatori really did fall in love with kana, and want to marry her. obviously, the angst and torment of the fallout of that is pretty much something he's gotten used to living with. he's rather... reserved. ^_~ and his relationship with akito is... enigmatic, to say the least. ayame was really happy for hatori when he was engaged to kana, and rather bitter about it now. the three of them - shigure, ayame, and hatori - are all the same age, so they spent a lot of time together and were very close growing up.

that's canon (as far as i know). fanon often lumps the three of them together, because of the closeness. not that there is much of a fandom. hmph.

nope!! and yeah, i get what you mean now. i don't think either of them got what their real motivations were in that, but yeah, they were going about the business of bringing her back. she just made it a bit easier for them.

Hang on. Aren't Shigure and Ayame canonically having sex? Or at least canonically saying things clearly intended to give that impression? (Which could all just be to annoy Yuki and Kyo, yeah, but given the people involved genuine sex-having seems more likely.) I didn't remember anything so blatant with Hatori, which is why I asked.

Right. A mission of Tohru-collection, results absolutely insisted upon. (Especially after they've had to spend all that time together trying to find the place--they were not going to do that twice! :) Yeah, Shigure has a point, "kidnap" isn't a bad term for it. But all the kids would agree on "save." :)
