My comics store a) has not received any comics in the last two weeks (I would like to have a clearer explanation of this, but the kid running the register clearly didn't know anything and I didn't have the heart to yell at him) and b) is going out of business in mid-January. This is going to be a problem.

That sounds awful. I'm quite attached to my favorite comic store (not surprising after buying comics since I was ten or so), and it would really suck if it went out of business. It's not only mostly competent and not too expensive with the exchange rate, it's also not located in a dungeon like basement hole run by weird characters as comic stores all too often seem to be (seriously, as much as I'm okay with weird comic geeks, some people may really like comics, but are simply not suited to run a business professionally).

I'm not really attached to the place emotionally--it's nice enough, and I regret that it's going out of business, but it does not leave an empty place in my heart. (It doesn't have much in the way of back issues, for one thing.) But it's quite convenient to my home, and I don't drive. So now I have to not only find a new one but, for preference, one that does not involve my spending an hour on the bus getting there... *cringe*
