greenygalPoor Silver Age writers. They were just trying to write exciting adventures about their brave, noble heroes, subtext decidedly not included. I realize it's nothing intentional. But when, in the middle of a story where Superman and Batman are displaying their comradely affection for each other on just about every page anyway, Superman barks: "I'm telling you for the last time, mister--! Keep your hands off Batman!!"...well, we all know where my mind went, right? ;)
