Why I cherish my mother's family and actually look forward to the holiday get-together: because in the time between sitting down to dinner and actually taking a bite of any of the food, I was reduced to laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. For the first of many times. I was particularly fond of the running joke about the evil mind-controlling squirrels. Yeah, this is how to spend Christmas Eve.
