Ah, timing

So I was peacefully settled in for the evening, folding laundry and watching a DVD of Hercules: the Legendary Journeys. (Any comments on my taste in entertainment will be...well, true, possibly, but that's not the point. Anyway.) I'm most of the way through the episode, there's a noisy climactic swordfight going on...and the phone rings, just as the good guy is in the process of killing the bad guys. I hit pause; there may also have been some muttering about how they couldn't wait five minutes?! *g* But I answer the phone...and it turns out to be an organization concerned with the amount of violence, obscenity, and sexual content in today's entertainment.

I was good, really; I didn't hang up on them, I didn't explain to them how very much I was not their target audience (it turned out they were only looking for actual parents, so I didn't qualify anyway), and I didn't start laughing until after I'd hung up. But...oh dear.

Of course, Hercules is pretty mild by these standards; the irony would have been much better if I'd been watching Saiyuki, say, or the director's cut of Daredevil that I haven't got to yet. (Or, for that matter, finishing my current book which has all the violence, obscenity, and sexual content anybody could ever want.) Still. All unsolicited calls should be this amusing.
